Jonah:Navigating a Life Interrupted

The ladies in our fall bible study decided we'd like to continue doing a study through the holidays. We chose Priscilla Shier's, Jonah. Last Monday night was our first night and all I can say is Wow. God knows what we need... its not a coincidence that we chose this small 6 week study. All of us are in different stages of life... I'm talking ages ranging from 22-80. Nonetheless this study is powerful and applies to all of our lives.

This is about navigating the life interrupted. We may have a plan for our lives but at some point things happen to either knock us off course, tragically shake us, or maybe simply frustrate us. This could be losing a loved one or just getting some disappointing news. These interruptions will happen at some point in our lives. How we will respond is the big question!

Through the small book of Jonah we are encouraged to look at these interruptions not as negative, bad things, but as divine interventions. Its simply God reminding us He is in control and has a perfect plan for us. Though these interruptions aren't what we had in mind, we are reminded that they are privilege. God is allowing us "the esteemed opportunity to participate in kingdom purposes."
