This past weekend was jammed packed! We had our ReFuel weekend with ours kids Friday and Saturday. I had a funeral to go to Saturday morning, Kacie had a shower Saturday afternoon, date night with hubs on Saturday night, church Sunday morning, and then 2 mother's day functions Sunday afternoon and evening. It was jammed pack indeed, but jammed pack with my favorite people!
ReFuel Weekend:
Our youth and leaders met at the church at 7:00 on Friday night. We had a worship service led by the Daniel Ford band and Luke Saunders. It was an awesome time and something we will definitely have to do again soon. Then at 9:30 the girls went to spend the night at one house and the boys at another. Then the boys got up Saturday and went to play paintball. The girls got up and we went and got manis and pedis. Then we all met back up at the church for lunch. It really was a refueling weekend.
Funeral:
A friend of mine at work...her husband passed away so I slipped away after my pedicure and went to the funeral. One great reminder from this experience is that Jesus truly is our only hope.
Kacie's Shower:
Her showers just get better and better. This was no exception. The food was delicious, the people were precious, and my sister and J got some great gifts. One idea that I loved was that when you walked in the front door she had a small table set up for you to write a note of encouragement. Then you were to put it in an envelop and address it to yourself, but not seal the envelope. The envelopes were given to Kacie at the end of the shower. That way Kacie was able to read the notes of encouragement and already had the envelopes addressed for her Thank You cards. Genius!
Date night:
We had a rare night of nothing to do so we decided to go on a date. We have a ton of gift cards... being a teacher definitely has it's benefits... and we hardly have time to use them. Being the suckers for mexican food that we are... we headed to On the Border. It was a night of good food, a hot date, and free dessert (because one of the waiters yelled a cuss word when he hurt himself and all the tables in our section heard it.) Too bad we had already finished a dessert that we had paid for.
Mother's Day:
Regardless of the craziness that can come with having 2 families to split your time with, I wouldn't change anything because we have 2 great families. We are so blessed. I have 2 great mommas that love and support us unconditionally. 2 mommas that would drop everything to help us. 2 mommas that give selflessly. Yep, they're the best!
