God View

God has given us a passion for the country and people of Haiti. Thankfully we've been given another opportunity to go this summer. And we couldn't be more excited. This is the organization we work with.

Getting the opportunity to go to Haiti has helped open our eyes to the needs of people all around the world. We began at the first of the year introducing our students to a new country each week. We want out students to get out of their bubble of fayette county and see the needs of others across the world... the main need being Jesus. Now we realize people in fayette county have needs and need to hear the gospel as well. We are just trying to get our students to think globally. D gives statics, shows them where these countries are, what the main religion is, etc. and also explains how we can pray for this country.

His message on Wednesday was about the purpose, promise, and the price of world missions. For winter camp our theme was God view b/c like A.W. Tozer states, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” Everything we do, say, and pursue is based on how we view God. If we believe God is a global God then we will do what we can to reach everyone... not just Americans... for Christ.

Here are a few notes I took. I was running the sound board so I didn't catch everything, but I did manage to get some notes.

Purpose of World Missions
-We are to make disciples. A disciple is someone who is consumed with Jesus and making him known. We need to be passionate about Christ, share the gospel, and spread that passion to others.

Promise of World Missions
-God's plan can not and will not fail.

Price of World Missions
-it will cost you... friends, family, selfishness, maybe even your life
-We may have temporary suffering, but its all for the glory of God.

So now how do we apply this stuff to our life? how do we think globally?
-Pray
-Give
-Go
