School Fun Days

Ok my teacher friends... or creative friends, I need your help. We have 5 weeks of school left. I was hoping that 2 days out of every week we could have a fun day. Now it would be a normal school day but add a twist of fun... out of the ordinary kind of fun.

One of our ideas was Beach Day. Each child could bring a beach towel, hat, sunglasses and a snack and we could go into our back field for a fun morning snack time. Normally we only have afternoon snack so this would be a big deal, yet so easy and fun.

So... I need more fun ideas like this but I'm coming up short. I have some ideas but they're not really great ideas... and I want greatness.

So help a sister out... let the creative juices start flowing. And no idea is dumb. :)

  1. For our end of the year "party" we have "A Day at the Movies." We show two different movies. We give out tickets and the students have to pick the movie they want to see. We have popcorn for the students to "buy." (They bring a drink from home.)

Maybe y'all could have a picnic lunch and have a kickball game or relay races or something similar before or after your lunch outside!

  2. You don't know me, but I went to high school with Rob, Daniel and Julie. I teach first grade so there is a slight age diffence in our kiddos, but what about a Read In kind of day...bring a pillow/ and or sleeping bag and get all comfy while reading/being read to.

  3. What about setting up a store? Use play money/coins and let parents donate things from the dollar store or baked goodies for the kids to "buy". You could do a sprinkler day too...that may be too crazy with preschoolers tho. Or maybe make pizzas if you have an oven at your school.

  4. Going along with the movie theme, they could make their own snacks one day - popcorn cupcakes. You'd already have the cupcakes made (and use red cupcake liners). They could frost the cupcakes, put mini marshmallows on top for the popcorn. But then you give them each paintbrushes and a little bit of yellow food coloring...they get to then paint on the "butter" for the popcorn. Then watch cartoons while eating the snacks

  5. We have done bubble day where the kids get to bring all kinds of bubbles from home. The LOVE it! You could also do bubble gum while they are blowing the soap bubbles. We have also done picture day where they bring in one of those disposable cameras and take pictures of their friends. Can you do sidewalk chalk in the parking lot?
