Becoming God's True Woman

I am reading a book and it's changing my life. I love to read so when a friend suggested this book I was very excited. I've seen what this book has done for her so I couldn't wait to get started.

The book is by Nancy Leigh Demoss and it's titled 'Become God's True Woman.' When I first saw the book, I just assumed it was another book that would tell me what I am not doing right as a woman and a wife. It definitely is doing that, but I love that it goes on to explain why.

The back of the book states:

"The feminist revolution was supposed to bring women greater fulfillment and freedom. It was suppose to make us feel better about ourselves.

It didn't.

Across generational lines, inside the church and out, we have lost the wonder of our distinctive makeup and calling as women. We are realizing that what was supposed to lift us up has been tearing down all that we treasure, including our own families.

Yet there is a new movement spreading its seeds- seeds of hope, humility, obedience, and prayer. It is a call to return to godly womanhood.

Godly women have found delight in God's created order and sweet purpose in his sovereign plan."

This book is changing the way I view myself, my marriage, friendships, etc.

Here are the chapters:

-Femininity: Developing a Biblical Perspective
-True Beauty
-Daddy's Girl: Knowing God as Father
-Portrait of a True Woman
-Becoming a Woman of Discretion
-Pruned to Bloom
-A Wife's Responsibility to Help Her Husband
-Liberated Through Submission
-How to Raise Feminine Daughters
-Nurturing Mothers
-Older Women Mentoring Younger Women: Titus 2 in the Church Today

I am currently in Liberated Through Submission. I'm telling you this book keeps getting better and better. It's not slamming those of us who are imperfect...because HELLO...we all are. It simply explains there is freedom in it for those who live the life we are called to.

I am just not even doing this book justice. But, if you're looking for a good read that will greatly impact your life....this is it!
